Aradel Hits Record N22.4bn Single-Day Trade on NGX
Aradel Holdings witnessed its largest single-day trade since its October 2024 debut on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).
Midday market data for September 10 revealed that 42.3 million shares, valued at roughly N22.4 billion, were transacted.
This development follows a major offloading by Africa Capital Alliance’s CAPE IV, the company’s largest shareholder, which sold N19.8 billion worth of shares shortly after Aradel’s listing to enhance liquidity. CAPE IV still retains the largest stake in the firm at 15.92 per cent.
The latest deal sparked a 3.68 per cent price jump, as the stock rose from N511 to N530, representing 0.96 per cent of the company’s outstanding shares. Market analysts believe the trade likely originated from a major shareholder, given the volume.
Strong trading activity was not limited to Aradel. FCMB Group also recorded high volumes, with 287.7 million shares—equivalent to 0.72 per cent of its total issued shares—changing hands in transactions worth N3.1 billion.
