APC came, saw, conquered Nigeria – Dino Melaye
Former lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has suggested that the All Progressives Congress has ‘conquered’ the country, declaring that its time in power is over.
DAILY POST reports that the APC has been controlling power since 2015, when it won the presidential election and a majority in the National Assembly.
Melaye specifically stated that the APC will be defeated in the 2027 general elections, insisting that Nigerians are now more prepared to defend their votes.
He spoke on Monday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.
Melaye said he was no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but a proud member of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, which he described as the party that would unseat President Bola Tinubu.
He accused the APC of misgovernance and maladministration, noting that while the ruling party “came, saw and conquered” in the past, the 2027 elections would produce a different outcome.
Melaye stressed that the opposition is better prepared and that the next electoral contest will not be “a tea party as usual.”
He said: “There are issues of misgovernance, maladministration out there. Those are the issues I think we should discuss. PDP is a political party. I’m not a member anymore.
“I’m a proud member of the ADC. And that is the party that will unseat Tinubu, and by the grace of God, send APC out of the villa come May 29.
“But I want to assure you that the 2027 election will not go that way. Nigerians are wiser. Like the Boy Scouts, we are more prepared, and I want to tell you that we will defend our votes this time.
“Leave that to time and season, but I’m assuring you that it is not going to be a tea party as usual at all.
“The APC, they came, saw and conquered at a time. But I want to tell you that 2027 will be a different story.”
