Another tanker explosion rocks Jigawa

Another petrol tanker explosion has occurred at NUSHE Filling Station in Marke town, Kaugama Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

A resident told DAILY POST that the tanker went up in flames while offloading fuel at the filling station on Saturday.

He said the incident, which happened at 8 pm, caused panic among residents and other road users.

Spokesman of the Jigawa State Police, SP Lawan Shisu Adam, confirmed the incident.

He said police officers and firefighters, supported by residents, worked to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes and businesses.

According to him, no deaths or injuries were recorded.

DAILY POST reported that a petrol tanker explosion on October 17, 2024, claimed the lives of 153 people in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
