Anchorage Digital, Ethena Labs Partner to Launch First Regulated Stablecoin Under New US Law

Ethena Labs has teamed up with Anchorage Digital, the United States’ first federally chartered crypto bank, to roll out USDtb—a regulated stablecoin that now marks its entry into the U.S. market under the newly signed GENIUS Act.

Previously issued offshore, USDtb will now be directly issued within the U.S. by Anchorage Digital Bank. This move enables institutional investors to access a fully compliant and trusted dollar-backed digital asset that fits seamlessly into existing financial infrastructure.

Anchorage is also launching a new platform that allows institutions to issue regulated stablecoins like USDtb, reinforcing a shift toward legally sound and secure digital finance. The partnership between Ethena Labs and Anchorage aims to provide the regulatory clarity and banking-grade infrastructure needed for stablecoin expansion in the U.S.

Ethena Labs, known for managing over $6 billion in total value locked (TVL) through its original stablecoin USDe, is backed by heavyweight investors such as Fidelity, Binance Labs, and Franklin Templeton. This collaboration with Anchorage is seen as the next step in the company’s mission to broaden USDtb’s reach under a strong regulatory umbrella.

Ethena CEO Guy Young stated that the partnership would bolster institutional confidence and drive adoption of USDtb across financial products and services. Anchorage CEO Nathan McCauley added that the GENIUS Act now provides the legal foundation necessary for stablecoins to thrive as a core component of the financial system.

The GENIUS Act, signed into law by President Donald Trump last week, officially establishes a U.S. regulatory framework for fiat-referenced stablecoins. By aligning stablecoin innovation with national compliance standards, the partnership ensures growth without sacrificing trust or oversight.

With stablecoins playing an increasingly important role in decentralised finance, international transactions, and modern banking infrastructure, the Ethena–Anchorage collaboration signals a turning point for regulated digital currencies in America.
