Anambra Guber: Ganduje Declares APC Primary Transparent
The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared the Anambra State governorship primary election as fair, credible, and transparent.
The party disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The party’s leadership endorsed Nicholas Ukachukwu, who clinched the party’s ticket as the flag bearer for the November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election, following the endorsement of its National Working Committee.
Presenting the APC Certificate of Return to Ukachukwu, the party chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, charged all stakeholders, particularly the other aspirants and their supporters, to support the party’s victory in the coming election.
The statement read in part, “The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, considered and approved the report of the Party’s Anambra State Governorship Primary Election.
“In its Primary Election Committee, under the chairmanship of the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, declared Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu the winner of the election with 1,455 votes.
“At Wednesday’s NWC meeting, the Party’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, thanked the Governor Bassey Otu-led Primary Election Committee for delivering a fair, credible and transparent election.
“Presenting the APC Certificate of Return to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Dr Ganduje charged all stakeholders, particularly the other aspirants and their supporters, to work for the party’s victory in the November 8, 2025, Anambra state gubernatorial election.”
On Sunday, Ukachukwu was declared the winner after receiving 1,455 votes, while his main competitor, Valentine Ozigbo, received 67 votes.
Johnbosco Onunkwo got 26 votes, and Edozie Madu garnered eight votes.
However, Ozigbo challenged the result at the party’s appeals committee, describing it as fraud.
