The Anambra State Police Command said it is prioritising community policing and partnering with stakeholders for effective policing in the state.

On Wednesday, the command said that the Anambra Police Commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu, led a security patrol of Operation Udo Ga Chi – Zero Kidnapping to the Nkwelle Ezunaka Community.

The CP stopped by at 3-3 and interacted with stakeholders, comprising different chairmen of the estates, private security operators, and other respected residents in the area.

“The CP is prioritising community safety and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve lasting peace, especially the police-led Operation Udo Ga Chi – Zero Kidnapping, which means ‘Peace must Reign’ –through increased security presence to deter crimes and reassure the public.

“The stakeholders, in recognising the Command’s efforts at enhancing security and fighting crime, especially reflecting on the CP’s value to the community engagement in policing, recognised him with the award of a Strategic Crime Fighter.

“The CP, in his response, appreciated the community and assured them of improved policing service delivery that is people-friendly.

“He thereafter dedicated the award to victims of police unprofessional conduct in the state,” the police said.
