Nigeria’s Queen of the track, Tobi Amusan delivered a stunning performance to win the women’s 100m hurdles at the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic on Tuesday.

Amusan clocked a time of 12.45 seconds to finish first in a display of explosive speed to leave her competitors in her trail.

Slovakia’s Viktória Forster finished second with 12.74 seconds, while Ireland’s Sarah Lavin finished third with a time of 12.76 seconds. It was a season-best time for both athletes.

Amusan finished second in the Diamond League last week with a season’s best time of 12.24s to finish second in the women’s 100m hurdles to continue her new-found form.

Olympic champion and world record holder Mondo Duplantis of Sweden continued his dominance of men’s pole vaulting.

He cleared 6.13m for a meeting record, and the win, with Greece’s Emmanouil Karalis, the bronze medallist at Paris 2024, taking second at 5.92m. Australia’s Kurtis Marschall, who finished sixth at last year’s Olympic Games, was third at 5.82m.

Another Olympic champion, India’s Neeraj Chopra hit 85.29m in his third throw of the men’s javelin competition to earn the top spot.

South African Douw Smith recorded a personal best of 84.12m to finish second, with Grenada’s Anderson Peters’ 83.63 finishing third.

Amusan won back-to-back Commonwealth and African titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100 m hurdles and is also a two-time African Games champion.

She is also the current Diamond league champion in the 100 metres hurdles having won the final in 12.33 seconds (+1.8 m/s) achieving a winning streak in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
