The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, is set to hand over the keys of 150 houses to civil servants in the state on Saturday.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Ekerete Udoh, a raffle ceremony will be used to select the 150 civil servants that will smile home with keys to the free houses donated by the governor.

He said only workers on salary Grade level 01 to 08 in the employ of the Akwa Ibom State government would partake in the exercise.

“The intending beneficiaries in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government who indicated interest in owning a property at the estate and had obtained tickets, are requested to attend the raffle ceremony, which will have as special guest of Honour, the compassion-driven Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.

“During the commissioning of the estate earlier this year, Governor Eno had announced that he was giving out 150 of the 2 bedroom expandable flats in the Estate located at Ring Road 3 extension, off Idoro road in Uyo, the State capital, to that junior category of government workers.

“To this end, the Head of the Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien who also doubles as Chairman of the Allocation Committee, invites those with tickets to attend a random selection exercise scheduled to hold on Saturday, 21st September, 2024 at the amphitheater of the Unity Park, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, by 6:pm.

“Members of the public are also invited to witness the event,” said Udoh.
