AFCON 2025: 8 countries qualify for tournament

At least eight countries have booked their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco.

They are Congo, Senegal, Egypt, Angola, Cameroon, Algeria, Burkina Faso and Morocco.

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, confirmed this in a series of separate posts on their X account on Tuesday.

Congo, Senegal, Egypt and Angola are the latest teams to book their place after winning their matches today.

Congo defeated Tanzania 2-0 at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on Tuesday.

Angola won Niger Republic 1-0, Egypt defeated Mauritania 1-0, while Senegal also won 1-0 against Malawi.
