ADC has no internal crisis – Party spokesman

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has refuted speculation of internal political wrangling, insisting that it remains united and focused on building its national structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated this on Thursday while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television.

DAILY POST recalls that Nafiu Bala, while addressing the press on Wednesday, described himself as the authentic National Chairman of the ADC.

He explained that the Electoral Act and ADC’s constitution put him as the natural successor after Ralph Nwosu resigned as the party’s National Chairman.

“As our party’s national leadership, we are not aware of any change of leadership. Our party’s former National Chairman voluntarily resigned his position as the National Chairman of the party,” Bala had said.

Reacting, however, the party’s spokesman said the claims were false and designed to distract the coalition.

Abdullahi emphasised that the party’s constitution empowers the National Executive Committee, NEC, to act on behalf of the convention.

“This notion of crisis is good for the headlines, but there is no crisis in the ADC. The man resigned, and we provided evidence. If he claims otherwise, that’s a crime he should report to the police, not call press conferences.

“This same person said the same thing four or five weeks ago. What makes it news again is what surprises us,” he noted.
