Abians In Diaspora Urged To Support Otti’s Second Term Bid

The Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Mbah has made a heartfelt appeal to Abians living abroad to support Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office come 2027.

This impassioned plea was made on Saturday, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, during a special reception in his honor, hosted by the Old Bende Progressive Union, Atlanta Chapter.

Eze Mbah reminisced about the Old Bende Progressive Union’s recent meeting in Aba, where they had the privilege of visiting Governor Otti at his country home and endorsing him for a second term.

He fervently encouraged the Atlanta chapter and other Abians in the diaspora to follow suit.

“If you have not come back to Abia for a long time, please come back and see infrastructural development piloted by Governor Alex Otti, CHIOMA NDỊ ABIA.

“ His achievements within two years in office are unprecedented. We don’t have potholes again in Aba and Umuahia towns, and he has taken the developmental projects to rural areas.

I plead with you to give His Excellency Governor Alex Otti support to make up the 8 years tenure of office as the Governor. If you come to Abia State today, you will know that it is a new state, Governor Otti is building a new Abia. What he needs is your support and your prayers. He needs the support of Abians wherever they are,” he pleaded.

Eze Mbah went on to highlight Governor Otti’s remarkable achievements, including the ongoing construction of the Abia Airport, construction of Abia Medical City in Owerrita, retrofitting of 200 Primary Health Centres, renovation of schools, and making basic education compulsory with the recruitment of over 9,000 new teachers into the school system, among others.

He equally informed them that many road constructions have been done while others are at different levels of completion. Specifically, he mentioned that roads such as Port Harcourt road Aba, Umuahia – Uzuakoli – Akara – Alayi Abiriba Road have been completed, while work is ongoing at the Abiriba-Ohafia road, Ohafia – Arochukwu, Abam – Ndiokereke – Arochukwu road, and the iconic Omenuko bridge, which is almost completed, among others.

The traditional ruler, who is also the Eze Udo of AtaIgboukwu Kingdom in Umuzomgbo – Ihechiowa, Arochukwu LGA, emphasized that Governor Otti is achieving these feats without borrowing a dime.

He noted that since the inception of Governor Alex Otti’s government, the traditional rulers’ dignity has been restored, with the Abia traditional rulers receiving the highest stipend in the South East. While thanking the leadership of the Old Bende Progressive Union in Atlanta for hosting him, Mbah used the opportunity to invite Abians in the diaspora to visit Abia and see things for themselves, as well as invest in the state.

In his speech, Chief Emmanuel Ananaba, President of Abia State Indigenes in the USA, Atlanta Chapter, saluted the Old Bende Progressive Union in Atlanta for hosting them.

He assured that Abians living in Atlanta and throughout the entire USA are in support of Governor Alex Otti’s second-term bid.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the Old Bende Progressive Union, Atlanta Chapter, the President of the union, Chief Christie Obioma, and High Chief Nelson expressed their thrill at the media reports they have received about Governor Alex Otti’s achievements, which have been validated by HRM Eze Linus Mbah’s report.

They assured Eze Linus Nto Mbah that they are solidly behind Governor Alex Otti and will support him for a second term in office, mobilizing their people to support the Governor, having seen his projects that have a direct impact on Abians in both urban and rural communities.
