The Abia State Chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) led by Hon. Uluocha Nelcinn Chimex has unequivocally refuted recent allegations circulating in some quarters, suggesting a significant collapse of the party’s structure due to a handful of defections to the Labour Party.

The YPP leadership asserts that such claims are baseless and do not reflect the true strength and unity of the party.

“We understand and respect the individual choices of our former party chieftains who have decided to resign from the YPP,” stated the Abia State Chairman.

“In a democratic society, everyone is afforded the freedom of association and fellowship. While we acknowledge their departure, we extend our best wishes for their future endeavors.”

The Chairman emphasized that these individual decisions, though regrettable, do not in any way signify a systemic breakdown or weakening of the party’s foundation.

The statement further explained that the YPP remains robust, vibrant, and fully committed to its core principles and objectives. “Our resolve to serve the people of Abia State is unwavering,”.

“There is nothing lost that cannot be replaced, and our party is continuously attracting new, dedicated members who share our vision for a progressive Abia.”

He highlighted the ongoing grassroots mobilization and the influx of passionate young individuals and experienced professionals who are eager to contribute to the party’s growth.

The YPP also expressed its profound appreciation for the commendable efforts of Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State.

“YPP appreciates H.E. Dr. Alex Otti for his giant strides in governance and leadership,” the statement read.

The party lauded Governor Otti’s commitment to good governance, infrastructural development, and his clear vision for transforming Abia State, aligning with YPP’s own aspirations for a prosperous and well-managed state.

“The Young Progressives party – YPP – Abia State is resolute in its mission to be a leading voice for positive change, focusing on impactful policies that will improve the lives of all Abians”.
