Abia PDP Advocates For Inclusivity, Forgiveness

As part of efforts to strengthen the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Abia North, State Chairman of the PDP, Abraham Amah has advocated for inclusivity and forgiveness among all members of the Party as a way to regain its lost power in the last General Elections.

Elder Amah stated this during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting on Sunday, organised by a Former Member who represented Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly Hon. Uko Nkole at his Ozu-Abam Country home in Arochukwu.

Amah regretted how the people who benefited a lot from the Party had decided to pay back with evil and left the Party even when they were not in any way offended, adding that the Party had learnt from its past mistakes in the last Elections

He maintained that only credible candidates would henceforth emerge in the future Primaries, and assured the stakeholders that Abia North would definitely receive its fair share of opportunities under his leadership.

“For those of us who are here, let’s forgive ourselves and move forward. When I was campaigning to become the state chairman, for me, my prayer was not, I must win this election. That was not my prayer. I thought that if PDP is a third party, and that if it prepares a chairman, that will take it to the cemetery and bury it, I don’t want to be that chairman.

“I also told God that if I were to emerge as a chairman and die in office, I don’t want to emerge as a chairman. So I want to assure you that we are going to win back power in the name of God,” Amah assured.

Also Speaking, the organiser of the Meeting, Hon. Uko Nkole congratulated the newly elected Party Leaders in the zone and encouraged them to work diligently to strengthen the party’s influence, he appealed for reconciliation among party members to foster unity.

Nkole described the PDP as the only party that has nurtured political talent in the Country despite its present challenges and called on Members to remain committed to the Party’s ideals.

“It’s a selected meeting for stakeholders, for the entire five local governments that make up Abia North, and everybody that was invited at that level, 95% of the people came, while the other 5% took apologies for their absence.

Inclusivity and internal democracy was spoken in the end, and the state party chairman has promised that, and that is the way to go, so that the PDP can start being a breeding ground for the political parties to come and preach,” said Nkole.

The Whistler reports that Meeting witnessed the presence of key Party figures from the five local Governments in the district including Hon. Okereke Elendu the Zonal Abia North PDP Chairman, Hon. Lucky Johnson and Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe, representing Isuikwuato and Bende South constituencies, respectively, in the State House of Assembly. Others include Chief Eme Okoro, a former Secretary to the State Government among others
