Abia Gov’t Releases 2025 Common Entrance Examination Result

The Abia State Ministry of Education, through the Examinations Development Centre (EDC), has announced the release of the 2025 General Placement Test (GPT) results.

released Mrs. Kanu Ucheoma, Peace Director Examination Development Centre, in a statement on Tuesday, while breaking down the scores of the released results, said 53,697 candidates passed the examination, 841 did not pass, while 556 were absent.

She further announced that candidates who failed the Test are invited for re-sit and placement, noting that details of the release results are available at Examination Development Centre and online.

She explained that registration for the Mandatory Central Promotion Examination (MCPE) for all SS2 students in Abia State school system is ongoing.

Mrs Kanu however cautioned that only registered students will be eligible for West African Examination Certificate (WAEC).

The General Placement Test (GPT), otherwise known as the Common Entrance Examination, was held on the 3rd April, 2025 across all public and Private Primary schools in the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
