Prince Emeka Kalu, The New RATTAWU National President

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu felicitates with Abia-Born newly elected Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) National President, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu (Magic Fingers).

Emetu describes his victory against strong competitors as a reflection of the trust his colleagues have in his abilities, leadership style and vision for the union. He expresses delight in this feat, as his emergence honours state, and inspires many young professionals.

Deputy Governor Emetu expressed optimism that Prince Emeka Kalu’s leadership will advocate for media workers across Nigeria, fostering professionalism, bringing innovative solutions and collaborative efforts that will benefit both the union members and the media landscape.

He assures the new RATTAWU President of the Abia State Government’s support for a successful tenure marked by progress, unity and significant achievements.

Recall that Prince Kalu was recently declared the new National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) at the just-concluded RATTAWU National Delegates Conference (NDC) 2025, held in Gombe State.

Kalu, an indigene of Okon-Aku Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, clinched victory with a landslide margin, defeating three other contenders from Rivers, Ekiti, and Ogun States respectively.

A seasoned media professional and respected unionist, Prince Emeka Kalu has lived and worked in Anambra State for several years, earning accolades for his leadership in the media industry and grassroots mobilization.

The outcome of the election has been greeted with widespread jubilation, particularly among media workers across the southeastern region, who hailed his emergence as a win for professionalism, youth inclusion, and progressive leadership in unionism.
