Abia Govt Foils Vandalism At Modern Ceramics, Arrests Suspect

The Abia State Government has thwarted an ongoing vandalism at the Abia Modern Ceramics site located at Isi Court, along Aba Road in Umuahia.
Acting on an urgent call from the Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbuehi, security operatives arrived at the scene to find criminals vandalising the property.
According to Mr. Emmanuel, one of the suspects, identified as Messiah from Olokoro in Umuahia South LGA, was caught in the act of removing roofing sheets from the lab office.
While others fled upon sighting the security team, Messiah, who was on the roof, was apprehended after a brief struggle.
“He resisted arrest and was injured during the altercation. First aid was administered on-site before he was handed over to the Nigerian Civil Defense Corps for further investigation,” Mr. Emmanuel told THE WHISTLER on Tuesday.
The suspect is currently receiving medical treatment under police supervision at the Police Clinic in Umuahia, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices.
