Abia Govt Calls For Peace In Troubled Communities
The Abia State Government has reaffirmed commitment to foster peace, unity, and development across communities.
The Secretary to the Abia State government Professor Kenneth Kalu stated during peace dialogue he convened between the people of Ndi Ebe Abam and Ndi Ojiaku Abam in Arochukwu Local Government Area, who have been engaged in a longstanding boundary dispute.
Addressing leaders from both communities, the SSG urged them to resolve their differences through peaceful and constructive dialogue.
He emphasized that peaceful coexistence remains a fundamental pillar for meaningful progress.
He stressed the importance of unity and mutual understanding among brothers, warning against the escalation of tensions that may lead to violence.
The SSG called on the Traditional Rulers and stakeholders of both communities to caution their members against taking the law into their own hands, assuring that the state government is committed to ensuring a fair and permanent resolution.
In their separate speeches, the Eze of Ndi Ebe Abam, Ezeogo Okeko Arunsi, the Eze ogo of Ndi Ojiaku, Eze Ogo Ota Ola and the President General, Ikwan Uka expressed appreciation to the SSG for the timely peace initiative, and pledged their communities readiness to embrace peaceful dialogue and support the government’s effort in resolving the boundary issue amicably.
