Abia Assembly Confirms LG Service Commission Nominees

The Abia State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the nominees for membership of the Local Government Service Commission.
The Deputy speaker Rt Hon Augustine Okezie who presided over the plenary on Wednesday informed the House of a letter from the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna, as directed by Governor Alex Otti requesting for the screening and confirmation of the nominees.
The nominees include, Hon Jerry Uzosike, a Member of the 7th Abia Assembly, who represented Umuahia South State Constituency, G.C Duru, a one time Chairman, Aba South Local Government, ALGON National Deputy President, Joseph Eze-Aru, Orji Kalu Ukah, Mrs Ngozi Nwagbara, Elder JE Nwokocha and Allen Wogu.
In their separate responses, Hon Jerry Uzosike applauded the spring of synergy between the 8th Assembly and the Executive while GC Duru assured of his commitment to bring his vast experience in the Local Government system to bear.
They also appreciated Governor Alex Otti for deeming them fit for the responsibility.
The House adjourned Plenary to reconvene on the 10th of December.
