Security operatives have rescued eleven kidnap victims from a forest in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The victims, seven women, three babies, and a male teenager, were abducted from Kaibaba village in Turba ward, Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

They were handed over to the Sokoto State Government on Tuesday and received at the Government House on Wednesday.

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Idris Gobir, received the victims on behalf of the government and commended security forces for the operation.

Isa LGA Chairman, Alhaji Sherifu Kamarawa, also lauded the response to the abduction, which he said showed concern for the people’s safety.

The victims were reportedly abducted by suspected bandits and taken across the state border before the rescue effort.
