At least 70 inmates at the Kirikiri Custodial Centre in Lagos State pledged commitment to reform their lives and embrace Christianity following a spiritual outreach by the Kingdom Impact Vision International (KIVI) on Thursday.

The KIVI team, an interdenominational Christian group, was led by its Global Leader, Pastor Junior Nwaubani.

The visit is part of KIVI’s regular outreach efforts, focused on ministering to the inmates on spiritual and material needs.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the session featured praise, worship, and deliverance, with an emphasis on hope and a sense of purpose through faith, and provided inmates with material aids

During his sermon, Pastor Nwaubani encouraged the inmates to remain steadfast in their faith and urged them to meditate on the Bible daily.

“Today, you have accepted Christ and His good news. Remain steadfast in faith. Meditate daily with the Bible, do your part, and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you,” he said.

Benjamin Odagbon, Head of Prison Evangelism for KIVI, praised the inmates for their decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and assured them that KIVI would continue to offer spiritual support.

He pledged that the group would visit regularly to encourage the new converts in their journey of faith.

One of the inmates, Mr. Idowu Jayioba, while expressing desire for freedom, said he wished he could serve God outside the confines of the prison. (NAN)
