2027: YPP Deputy Governorship Candidate Drums Support For Otti’s Reelection

Former Young Peoples Party (YPP) deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 general election in Abia State, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso, has said that Dr Alex Otti will be reelected for a second tenure for his sterling performance within two years in office.
Speaking with journalists in his Igbere country home in Bende Local Government Area of the state, Anyaso disclosed that a few individuals who are against Governor Otti’s administration are doing so because looting, which is the major means of their livelihood, has been eradicated with the election of Governor Otti.
“Governor Alex Otti will be reelected to complete his second term, owing to his sterling performance. Those who have the opportunity to be Abia State governor without making a very meaningful impact were elected to complete their tenure, let alone a governor who is doing excellently well.”
He maintained that Gov. Otti’s administration is performing optimally, and Abians and mostly businessmen who were formerly mocked for being Abians, are now bold and sing their identity as Abians with pride.
Anyaso went down memory lane to recall how he left the PDP in 2022, where he was gunning for the party’s Guber ticket as a result of what he described as kangaroo party primaries, and how he joined forces with Engr. Enyinnya Nwafor in the Young Progressive Party, who has a similar vision and genuine mission for Abia, and how they also agreed not to engage in verbal war with any candidate that has a similar vision, expressing satisfaction that, for the first time, Abians voted for the candidate of their choice.
Anyaso, who insisted that he is still a card-carrying member of the YPP, said politics should be an avenue of giving back to society and also should be seen as a call to service and not a vent to enrich oneself, as most people have converted it.
He expressed joy that Gov. Otti is performing well both in human capacity development and infrastructure development, and pointed out that the governor is not in the business of sharing Abia resources, unlike the previous administration.
He enjoined politicians at the national level to tenaciously embrace and practice real democracy, which embodies freedom of association and speech, and where other political parties should be allowed to exist without being suppressed, as Nigeria is not a one-party state but operates a multiparty system.
The Vanguard award winner and business mogul, who believed in the concept of ‘Akuroulo’, bringing your wealth home, cited the nursery/primary school and Ofuji Resort, which he built in his community, among other investments, and which is also complementing the state government’s efforts in the tourism/hospitality and education sectors.
