2027: PDP Begins Mobilisation In Sokoto, Awaits Tambuwal’s Directives
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has declared that it is strategically positioned to reclaim political power in 2027, citing growing support among youth and women across all 23 local government areas.
The declaration came during a meeting held at the party’s state secretariat which brings together key stakeholders from Sokoto North and Sokoto South federal constituencies.
While some prominent party leaders were in attendance, the majority of participants were youth who turned up in large numbers to show solidarity with the party’s leader in the state, former governor and serving senator, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Addressing the gathering, PDP chieftain, Faruku Sarkin-fada, expressed confidence that the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts are yielding results, adding that Sokoto residents are yearning for a return of the PDP to power.
He noted that the administration’s blueprint for 2027 will be anchored on the aspirations of the people, particularly the younger generation who form the bulk of the electorate.
On the issue of the much-speculated opposition coalition ahead of the next general elections, Sarkin-fada said party members are waiting for the final decision of Senator Tambuwal, whom he described as a “visionary leader with the political experience to guide the PDP to victory.”
He stressed that whatever direction Tambuwal chooses, the members will follow wholeheartedly in the interest of unity and electoral success.
According to him, the party’s recent outreach programmes, ward consultations, and social engagement initiatives have been instrumental in reconnecting with the grassroots.
“We are not just waiting for 2027; we are working daily to ensure the people see PDP as the credible alternative,” Sarkin-fada emphasised.
Party insiders hinted that more strategic meetings will be held in the coming weeks to consolidate alliances, strengthen internal structures, and prepare for possible coalition talks.
For now, all eyes are on Senator Tambuwal to unveil the PDP’s definitive political roadmap in Sokoto State as the countdown to 2027 gains momentum.
