2027: Jonathan’s return would affect Tinubu’s chances – Sani

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Sani, has said that the return of former President Goodluck Jonathan would affect the chances of President Bola Tinubu at a second term.

Speaking on Friday while fielding questions on ‘The Morning Show’, a programme on Arise Television, Sani said Tinubu is now preparing the South-South for himself.

“Tinubu is preparing these states (Edo, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers) for himself. The coming of Jonathan will upstage his efforts, as the South-South will rally strongly to support him. They simply cannot sacrifice their own son for any other consideration.

“They will come out en masse because this is their son. So they cannot sacrifice their own son for any other consideration.

“So, it will affect Tinubu more than it will affect any other candidate that is coming from the North, which is the battleground for Jonathan,” he said.
