‘I will never retire from music’ – Terry G vows

Veteran Afrobeats star Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has vowed never to retire from music.

The 39-year-old stated that he would rather embrace being an up-and-coming artist than quitting music.

He stated this while responding to critics who slammed him for chasing clout on social media.

On his X handle, Terry G wrote, “I fully embrace being seen as an upcoming artist. You only become a legend when you retire—and I’m never retiring. So if you catch me chasing clout, let me be.”

Terry G led a movement of ghetto-leaning music called ‘Street-hop’ in the 2010s, with hit songs like ‘Free Madness’, ‘Sangalo’, ‘Akpako Master’, and ‘Run Mad’ among others.

He is currently attempting a comeback in a collaboration with Victony titled ‘Tanko.’
