The Headies Academy has announced the performers for the upcoming 17th edition.

Shallipopi, who earned 6 nominations, including for the highly coveted Next Rated prize, will be performing at the award ceremony.

Other performing acts announced for the upcoming ceremony include Next Rated Award nominees Qing Madi and Nasboi.

Headies Award winner Chike, who earned four nominations, including one for the Song of the Year, will also be gracing the Headies stage.

Also confirmed for the award ceremony is celebrated musician Flavour, who is a recipient of the Headies Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 17th Headies tagged “Back to Base” is set to be held on April 27, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre.

The upcoming ceremony is expected to be the first of two edition set to hold in 2025 with the second scheduled for December as the Headies Academy aims to close the gap year which has proven to be a major issue for the award ceremony.

The nominations for the upcoming 17th Headies awards were earlier revealed with Rema, OdumoduBlvck, Rema, Tems, and Ayra Starr leading the list.

The nominations list has also generated reactons after notable omissions and the Headies also appearing to flout its own guidelines by nomimating ineligible materials.

In a recent interview, the Headies Executive Producer Mr. Ayo Animashaun decried the dwindling support the award has received as he highlighted that the Grammy was now more popular in Nigeria.

The award ceremony will be returning to Nigeria after two editions in the United States.

At the award premiere event recently hosted by the United States Consular General, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism described the award’s return to Nigeria as a welcome development.
