Nigerian songstress Ayra Starr has made history as the first African artist to earn a Latin Diamond certification.

Her international collaboration with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro, ‘Santa’, was certified Latin Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for grossing over 35 million streams.

She joins Rema, whose song ‘Bubalu’ is certified Platinum, as the only African artists with RIAA Latin certifications.

‘Santa’ is also certified multiple Platinum in Spain and Mexico. It topped the Spanish chart and peaked at No. 2 in Colombia, Ecuador, and Central America.
