EPL: Incredibly hard – Obi Mikel rates Chelsea’s chances of winning title this season

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel believes it would be hard for the Blues to win the Premier League title this season with their goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

The former Super Eagles captain also insisted that Chelsea should have signed goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain before Manchester City swooped for the Italian.

“I have said it so many times. We [Chelsea ] should’ve in the transfer window brought in a top goalkeeper,” Obi Mikel said on The Obi One Podcast.

“We have seen what Donnarumma is doing now at Manchester City, he was the goalkeeper that was out there.

“It is going to be incredibly hard for us to win the Premier League with the goalkeeper that we have right now.

“Every top club has got a goalkeeper, Pep Guardiola notified that. He needed to get rid of Ederson, and he did that.

“He is got Donnarumma, and we can see now he makes saves. A top goalkeeper wins you the league.”

Donnarumma, who recently won the Ballon d’Or award for the best men goalkeeper, has been impressive for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this season since joining the Premier League giants.
