The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has once again urged Nigerian leaders to embrace justice, reduce citizens’ hardship and strengthen unity for lasting prosperity in the country .

CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, made this appeal on Friday while felicitating with Muslims across the country on the celebration of Eid-ul-Maulud.

DAILY POST reports that Eid-ul-Maulud is used to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

Archbishop Okoh stated that the values embodied by the Prophet were essential virtues that transcend religious boundaries.

“Eid-ul-Maulud offers Nigerians a moment of reflection on the values of humility, compassion, justice and devotion to God which the Prophet exemplified.

“The values transcend religious boundaries and point us towards building a society anchored on peace, fairness and mutual respect,” Okoh said.

The cleric, however, warned that Nigeria was at a turning point, urging leaders to show greater accountability and compassion in addressing the nation’s challenges.
