FCT: I won’t allow criminality, illegal occupants will be rejected – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Monday declared that all illegal occupants in the capital city will be thrown out.

Wike said he will not allow criminality under any guise in the FCT.

He noted that poverty should not be used as a cover to perpetrate criminality and kidnapping across the FCT.

Speaking during his monthly ministerial press briefing, he assured that the FCT Administration is determined to secure the city.

He noted that there is nowhere in the world that government has been able to completely tackle poverty.

Wike said: “Those claiming to be the owners of this land, why are you not developing the land? We are going to make sure that all illegal occupants are thrown out. It’s unfortunate because security is key and paramount.

“Any government that can’t provide security for its citizens shouldn’t be in government.

“We have to be careful about this poverty thing. All over the world, China, there are areas where you can see poverty, but that does not give you room to make people uncomfortable, kidnap them. No, we will not allow that, so let nobody use this poverty thing as an excuse.

“We have this attitude that everything must be done by the government. I will not allow criminality under any guise.”
