Australian pop star Iggy Azalea names Nigerian singer her ‘favourite artist’
US-based Australian singer and rapper, Iggy Azalea, has named Nigerian singer Victony as her favourite artist.
During a recent livestream with popular streamer N3on, Iggy Azalea revealed that she stumbled on Victony while listening to another artist he collaborated with on Apple and instantly fell in love with his music.
N3on asked, “What’s your go-to artist right now to listen to?”
Iggy Azalea replied, “I like Victony. He’s an Afrobeats artist. He’s on fire. I found him on Apple Music while listening to a collaboration he did with another artist, and I fell in love with his sound.
“Now, he is one of my soundtracks in the shower.”
DAILY POST reports that several musicians from across the world have also listed Nigerian artists among their favourites.
A few years ago, multiple Grammy-winning American singer Billie Eilish surprised her fans after she named Nigerian singer Tekno as her favourite artist during an interview.
Similarly, Colombian star Shakira revealed a few months ago that Nigerian Afrobeats singer Burna Boy is one of her favourite artists.
