German club RB Leipzig has apparently been notified by Manchester United that they are ready to make a formal bid for striker Benjamin Šeško. Under manager Rúben Amorim, United are stepping up their efforts to acquire the Slovenian international to expand their offensive alternatives.
The proposal is dependent on the player’s choice, according to football transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, because Newcastle United is also making a strong move for Šeško. The 22-year-old is currently considering his options and will make the final decision.
The two main teams vying for Šeško are Manchester United and Newcastle United, but Rúben Amorim’s team has informed RB Leipzig that they are prepared to formally express their interest with a bid, provided the player accepts the transfer.
Since last week, Newcastle has been prepared to propose Šeško and is ready to match both RB Leipzig’s asking price and Šeško’s financial demands.
Even though Manchester United won’t be playing in the Champions League next season, Šeško is reportedly “really open” to joining the team. According to reports, he is taking the club’s long-term plan and vision into consideration.
